We are delighted to invite you to the official launch event of the Mason Institute for Medicine, Life Sciences and the Law. This event, in honour of Professor JK Mason, will be a panel discussion on the future of medical law and ethics involving the UK's leading medical lawyers and Professor Mason himself. Professors Sheila McLean (University of Glasgow), Margaret Brazier (University of Manchester) and Emily Jackson (London School of Economics) will debate with Professor Mason (University of Edinburgh) on current medical developments and law and society's response to them in light of their collective experience of decades of working in the field. The panel are pioneers in the discipline and will be answering questions from the audience on how we should respond to the developments thrown up by medicine and science in the 21st Century.
The event will be chaired by Professor Graeme Laurie (Professor of Medical Jurisprudence, School of Law, University of Edinburgh)
The discussion will be followed by a wine reception.
